Description: It is rare to find knives from Mastersmith Kevin Harvey on the US market these days and he has been greatly missed. His unique style and exceptional fit and finish show through his work.
This large clip point bowie was forged to shape using his own damascus. The complex damascus is a pattern that he calls "Random Chaos". The high contrast damascus combines three steels (O1, 5160, and K600) -- each with their own distinct color tone. The resulting damascus is immediately captivating due to its complexity.
The oval guard is formed from hand satin finished stainless steel. The wooden handle is formed from thuya burl. The warm toned wood has a nice mix of warm and dark tones with the characteristic dark bird's eye pattern throughout. Mortised tang construction ensures strength and durability. Stainless steel pins are textured to match the ferrule. The handle is completed with a stainless steel lanyard loop. The knife is accompanied by an embossed cowhide sheath with a laced belt loop segment. Excellent work throughout!
