Description: This elegant sub-hilt was made by retired knifemaker Paul Maffi. Paul, who hails from Sydney, Australia was influenced by makers such as Virgil England, Paul Jarvis, Gil Hibbon, and Wofgang Loerchner. His work is meticulous and extremely dramatic. This knife has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday!
The long, 440C stainless steel terminates in an aggressive barb. The blade combines a mirror polish on the hollow grinds with a satin finish in the flats. The sub-hilt guard was meticulously hand carved and provides a sure, elegant finger choil when choked up on the blade. Mammoth ivory scales are inlaid into the handle. The satin finished stainless steel handle is hand engraved by B Dean. Exceptional work throughout!
