Description: Collectors of Anders' work know that he has some of the tightest tolerances of any maker, anywhere. Anders excels in creating a fusion of Japanese and Nordic styles.
Ancient Walrus Bone Slender Dagger features a 1050 carbon steel blade that was created using a traditional Japanese clay heat treatment technique. The artful hamon (temper lines) show the transition between a soft central spine and keen, hard cutting edge. In this case, Anders double quenched the blade, resulting in a double set of hamon.
The handle is formed from very rare ancient walrus chin bone. The stabilized bone incorporates cream, black, and brown tones and is quite dramatic. The guard and pommel are formed from sterling silver that has been textured and antiqued. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
