Description: Though Journeyman Smith Aaron Wilburn is best known for his exceptional hunters, when he puts his hands to creating a bowie, the results are equally engaging.
The 9 inch damascus blade was forged to shape from his own random pattern damascus. The pattern is both bold enough to grab attention from a distance and to keep fascination when examined up close. By incorporating 15N20 and 52100 carbon steels, Aaron ensures optimal edge holding. The clip point blade is distal tapered for a nimble balance.
The presentation grade snakewood handle is surrounded by fittings formed from antique wrought iron recovered from an 1800s era wagon wheel. Pins and spacers are made from nickel silver.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath. Aaron has made the strap detachable, allowing it to be replaced if the blade ever cuts or damages the strap. The strap is formed from shark skin. The sheath is lined with deer skin.
Exceptional work throughout!
