Description: This stunning hand forged chef's knife set is the creation of Journeyman Smith Erik Fritz. The 8 inch blade is perfect for use both at home or in a busy professional kitchen. The santoku is the traditional Japanese chefs knife. This comfortable design is a fantastic multipurpose chopper. The Santoku style has quickly become the new favorite for chefs in the West.
The blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel. Many knife users and knife makers feel that 52100 carbon steel is among the best, if not the best steel for knives. Carbon steel knives do require slightly more care. We recommend using camellia oil after use to avoid rust. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish.
The wa style octagonal handle is ambidextrous. It combines Honduran rosewood with African blackwood for a captivating appearance. This handle style allows a wide range of different grips -- ensuring a more comfortable grip when used for longer periods of time.
Exceptional work throughout, and a perfect choice for the chef or home cook.
