Description: I was very pleased when Mastersmith Bill Burke introduced me to Bruce Barnett. For several weeks, Bill had brought up this Australian visiting knifemaker as a potential new maker for BladeGallery. When I saw Bruce's attention to detail, skill, and artistic eye, I immediately thanked Bill. It was with great pleasure that I watched Bruce complete the performance test on his way to becoming a journeyman smith.
This damascus folder features an elegant wharncliffe blade. It is made from Bruce's own sharkstooth pattern damascus forged from carbon steels. The pattern is immediately captivating and detailed.
Mammoth ivory scales fit perfectly to 416 stainless steel bolsters. The mammoth ivory combines cream and caramel tones. The left scales is inlaid with a 416 stainless steel escutcheon -- perfect for engraving. Liners and pins are also formed from 416 stainless steel. Smooth action with a firm 1/2 stop. Perfectly centered blade. Excellent work throughout.
