Description: André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. This knife has a great feel in the hand and will have exceptional edge holding. This full size, yet light knife will soon become a favorite every day carry. It is so well made that it will feel at home in any collection. The bright color of this gent's tactical makes it easy to find.
The clip point Panzer 36 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. Panzer 36 is a martensitic stainless steel with high hardness, high wear resistance and good corrosion resistance. It is cross rolled in production to cancel out residual stresses from the manufacturing process. It has only recently begun being used by knifemakers and has gained significant acclaim by South African makers, where it has quickly found popularity. Mastersmith Kevin Harvey has been involved in the initial testing of Panzer 36 and describes it as having 'excellent edge holding and toughness.' The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The flipper style opening is a perfect combination with the IKBS ball bearing system. The Ikoma Korth Bearing System (IKBS) pivot system was originally designed to fit balisong knives and uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with virtually no blade play. The perfectly centered blade is easily opened using the flipper mechanism or with a simple flick of the wrist.
The scales combine yellow G10 with black Micarta in a perfectly aligned inlay. Rather than using two separate pieces butted together, Andre created the G10 handle and inlaid a micarta bolster into the scale. This results in very strong scales that are set on blue anodized titanium liners. Exceptional fit throughout.
