Description: André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. This knife has a great feel in the hand and will have exceptional edge holding. This compact, light knife will soon become a favorite every day carry -- but could easily be the pride of any collection.
The clip point Panzer 36 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. Panzer 36 is a martensitic stainless steel with high hardness, high wear resistance and good corrosion resistance. It is cross rolled in production to cancel out residual stresses from the manufacturing process. It has only recently begun being used by knifemakers and has gained significant acclaim by South African makers, where it has quickly found popularity. Mastersmith Kevin Harvey has been involved in the initial testing of Panzer 36 and describes it as having 'excellent edge holding and toughness.' The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge, and the blade is perfectly centered with a delightfully silky-smooth action.
The scales are formed from dramatically spalted maple, in tones of caramel and chocolate. 303 stainless steel bolsters are textured and engraved with an artistic impression of a Zulu mask. The scales are set on blue anodized titanium liners, which have been decorated with filework along the spine. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
