Description: Deceased knifemaker Terry Kranning was best known for his miniature knives, and it is clear to see why. This knife has been in a single private collection and is in new condition.
Terry began by grinding the blade into the shape of a classic bowie knife, a pronounced swedge running along the clip of the deep-bellied blade. Filework adorns the spine from the guard to the swedge, and a Spanish notch resembling a sunburst decorates the ricasso.
The guard is formed from damascus matching the blade, fileworked in such a way as to suggest a slight 's guard' shape. Dramatically striped mammoth ivory scales, in tones of cream, caramel, and russet are set on a full tang and secured with brass pins. The proportions are simply perfect - you would hardly know it was a miniature!
