Description: Erik Fritz, who was honored as a journeyman smith in June 2009, makes knives that have a classic look and feel. This is coupled with his outstanding eye for uniquely detailed materials. Little Missouri Fighter is an exceptional example of his work.
The 5160 carbon steel blade was forged closely to shape and is meticulously hand satin finished. By triple quenching and triple tempering the steel, Erik ensures a keen, high performing, long lasting edge. A differential heat treatment line travels across the blade, showing the transition between the hard cutting edge and the softer, supportive spine. This technique combines a high performing edge with durability and strength.
The 416 stainless steel guard nicely contrasts the warm toned maidou burl (Pterocarpus cambodianus) handle. This distinctive and dramatic wood is from a member of the paduuk family from Southeast Asia. It is also known as golden amboyna burl.
The knife is accompanied by a custom leather sheath by Glen Simenson.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
