Description: This exceptional hunter is the creation of Mastersmith Ed Caffrey. The blade is forged to shape in the san mai (three layers) technique. The 1084 carbon steel core is surrounded by softer layers of 416 stainless steel. This results in both exceptional edge holding and easier care -- along with a truly dramatic appearance! A distal taper results in a very aggressive point and excellent balance. The blade meets perfectly up to the sculpted nickel silver guard. The handle has been sculpted from a single piece of Western yew wood. The wood has excellent figure combining light tones with darker bird's eyes. Alternating white fiber and nickel spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. A textured nickel silver lanyard hole completes the handle. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
