Description: Mastersmith Tom Ferry is well known for creating exceptional knives that have an attention to detail rarely found in other makers' work.
The long, clip point blade was forged to shape from a complex mosaic pattern. Tom began by combining 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The pattern incorporates fine, detailed sections as well as bolder patterns, making it both fascinating from a distance, yet maintaining interest upon closer examination.
Both the oval guard, ferrule, and pommel are formed from case hardened steel, creating an antiqued effect that Tom calls French Gray. The ferrule and pommel have been engraved, combining floral scrolls with scallops. The central column of the handle is a solid piece of fossilized walrus ivory. The knife is accompanied by a leather sheath with mild steel fittings. Matching the handle, these have also been case hardened and engraved.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
