Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same technique -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional.
The drop point blade was forged from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. The blade is satin finished. A 416 stainless guard meets perfectly to the stabilized amboyna burl handle. The handle has been sculpted for a particularly comfortable grip. Black fiber spacers assist the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The blade has been distal tapered, resulting in an optimal balance. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
