Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006 and Bill's influence continues to clearly show through his work today. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Additionally, with the sheep horn handle, Bill's influence is clearly visible.
Henry became a master smith in June of 2007. Following the methods developed by Mastersmiths Ed Fowler and Bill Burke, the blade was hand forged at low temperatures, assuring a small grain structure. A triple quench and triple temper create some of the sharpest and most long lasting edges found anywhere. The stainless steel guard and black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. When wet, sheep horn does not become slippery, and it is amazingly durable. The spacer is created by taking two sheep horn end cuts and aligning them outward, producing a very pleasing effect. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
