Description: Deceased knifemaker Buster Warenski is among the most famous knifemakers of all time. He has created some of the greatest masterworks of modern custom knives. He began making knives in 1966 as a hobby and was making knives full time in 1975. With such a long career and such skill, it is no surprise that he has been called "one of the most well-known and prestigious knifemakers our times have produced." Buster Warenski passed away on July 31, 2005.
This fluted boot knife was created in 1979 and was the first knife that Buster engraved. It has been in a mastersmith's personal collection and has been meticulously cared for. The ivory has a check on each side, though it is nearly impossible to feel with a fingernail. The check is stable and does not appear to move or open. It is a very rare find! A tremendous collector piece for any Warenski collector.
The 440C stainless steel blade has been meticulously hollow ground and mirror polished. It is stamped "BUSTER". The mark is inlaid with 24kt gold. This mark is one of the rarest marks that Warenski used.
A threaded silver pommel, ferrule, and guard surround the fluted pre-ban ivory handle. Both the ferrule and guard were engraved by Buster. This knife is particularly collectible in that it is the first knife that Buster engraved. The knife is accompanied by the original leather and silver sheath. Excellent work throughout!
