Description: The Long Damascus Saber is a masterwork by Journeyman Smith Michael Rader. The 37 1/2" blade is formed from highly complex damascus that immediately grabs attention from a distance and continues to fascinate upon closer examination. The spine is formed into a perfect ridge.
Michael is well known for his woodworking prowess and he shows off his skills through both the handle and scabbard. Both are formed from sepele, Peruvian walnut and maple. Complex arches of wood form perfectly and without a seam. The bronze basket guard was forged to shape. The interior has been hammer textured. It is antiqued throughout. A damascus pommel is finished with a bronze skull crusher.
Showing tremendous skill, the sword was created with full take-down construction. This shows exceptional precision. Even the integral tang is formed from threaded damascus!
The sword blade glides into the wooden scabbard for perfect fit. Exceptional work throughout!
