Description: This is an exceptional hunter by renowned knifemaker, Roderick Chappel. This knife has been in a single collection and is in new condition.
The 3 inch blade was hollow ground and features dramatic grind lines. On the left side, it is marked: "August 6th, 1997 / Montlake Terrace, Wa. / SS. 440C". On the right side, it is marked: "Roderick Caribou Chappel / Palouse / Ser. No 1". This signifies that it is the first of this model.
A mirror polished stainless steel pommel and guard surround the carved curly maple handle. Fossil walrus ivory spacers are surrounded by brass and blue and red fiber thin spacers. The ivory spacers show small amounts of checking. As is typical of Rod's work, the handle has been carved for a very secure grip. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
