Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same technique -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional. The blade was forged by Henry when he was a Journeyman and the knife was created by him since he passed his Master Smith test in June 2008.
The drop point blade was forged from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. The blade was hand satin finished. A 416 stainless steel pommel and guard surround a stabilized maple burl handle. Black fiber spacers allow the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The blade has been distal tapered, resulting in an optimal balance. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
