Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. The blade was forged by Henry when he was a Journeyman and the knife was created by him after he passed his Master Smith test in June 2008.
The clip point blade was forged to shape from his own random pattern damascus, incorporating 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels. A 416 stainless steel guard separates the stabilized maple burl handle from the hand. The convoluted pattern of the maple nicely compliments the swirling patterned damascus. Black fiber spacers allow the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The blade has been distal tapered, resulting in an optimal balance. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
