Description: Journeyman Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere.
Following the methods developed by Mastersmith Ed Fowler along with Bill Burke, the blade was hand forged at low temperatures, assuring a smooth grain structure throughout the blade. A triple quench and triple temper have proven to create some of the sharpest and most long lasting edges found anywhere. The blade is finished out with a Spanish notch. Black fiber spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. When wet, sheep horn does not become slippery, and it is amazingly durable. This will be an exceptional knife for use out in the field or to be cherished in a collection. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
