Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Michael believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating the Damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic. Micke is one of the few Swedish makers to make such large, impressive Bowies.
The massive five bar composite mosaic Damascus blade is formed from four central bars of opposing twist pattern. The edge is firecracker pattern and is forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge holding. The exceptional blade leads into the large Damascus guard and ferrule.
The fossil mammoth bark scales are exceptional and museum quality. The mammoth ivory combines sky blue with light caramel tones. Blue ivory such as this is extremely rare. The tang has been surrounded by warm toned desert ironwood. The handle is finished out with a Damascus butt plate. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
