Description: Tom Sterling is well known for his knapped stone knives. In the last year, he has begun forging and has been caught with the steel bug. Here, he has combined his new love of the forged blade with his knapped style.
This utility-style "knapped" dagger features a blade hand forged from 1095 carbon steel. The steel was then carved and hot blued to resemble a knapped stone knife. The handle is formed from exhibition grade snakewood and has a nice mix of light and dark warm tones. The front "bolster" is formed from fossil ivory.
The accompanying presentation box is formed from birdseye maple.
Exceptional work throughout!
