Description: Cliff Parker has become well known for creating some of the thinnest and most detailed knives found anywhere. His attention to detail allows him to work with much tighter tolerances than found in other makers.
Here, he has created a space themed folder! The highly complex mosaic Damascus blade features detailed images of suns and stars. The Damascus in the blade has been twisted for a feeling of movement. It is perfectly centered and has silky smooth action. The 18k gold thumb stud holds a section of abalone.
The bolsters are formed from Gibeon meteorite. The Gibeon meteorite landed in Great Namaqualand, Namibia, Africa and radio carbon dates to over 4 billion years old. Its fragments are spread over one of the largest strewn fields in the world, measuring 70 miles wide by 230 miles long and have a distinctive pattern known as the Widmanstatten pattern -- one of the richest and most distinctive patterns found in meteorites.
The mammoth ivory scales are exhibition grade blue/green with hints of caramel. Fileworked screws are used throughout. Titanium liners have been textured and anodized to a gold tone. The backbar is formed from matching Damascus. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
