Description: Journeyman Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned bladesmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same technique -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional.
The drop point blade was forged from 5160 carbon steel. The blade was lightly etched and polished to bring out the grain structure inherent to the steel. A stainless steel pommel and guard surround a stabilized redwood burl handle. Black fiber spacers allow the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The blade has been meticulously distal tapered, resulting in an optimal balance. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
