Description: This Green River Skinner has an heirloom quality that is a hallmark of Mastersmith Kevin Harvey's work. He combines a precision brought to knives from his work as an engineer with a tremendous artistic sense.
The carbon steel blade has been hand forged from 5160 carbon steel. A differential heat treatment assures a keen, long lasting edge. The clip has been brought just shy of a sharpened edge, resulting in a strong, aggressive point.
Kevin went to the GRS school for engraving early in the summer of 2004 and has been incorporating his own engraving in many of his knives since then. The result is exceptional. Both the brass bolsters and rivets show off meticulously performed floral engraving. A brass lanyard hole allows for an easy addition of a leather thong. The walnut wood handle has nice grain structure, mixing darker and lighter tones. White and black fiber spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Excellent work throughout.
