Description: Jay Hendrickson's work is something that always catches my immediate attention. His fit and finish is something that can be found nowhere else.
The appleseed grind, a hallmark of his work, creates an edge that is durable, while being super-sharp. The bold Damascus pattern is immediately captivating. The handle is formed from masur birch with fine silver inlay in a Victorian scroll. Front and rear 'bolsters' are formed from India stag.
Jay has created this Nordic Puukko in a 'half horn' style. The traditional Nordic half horn sheath has been sculpted from masur birch (rather than reindeer antler) and inlaid with fine silver in a Victorian scroll. The masur birch grain structure comes out very dramatically through the sculpting. The leather upper has been finished off with a nickel silver throat.
Exceptional work throughout.
