Description: When a journeyman smith tests to become a mastersmith, the applicant must present five completed forged knives of various styles. At least one of these must be an art knife meeting the ABS requirement of a traditional pattern welded Damascus European Quillon type dagger with three hundred or more forged welded layers. This is often seen as the height of a maker's career. This is Ed's mastersmith test Quillion Dagger from when he became a mastersmith June 2000. Not surprisingly, the workmanship is beyond compare. Ed's sense of design, mixing classic European styles with a modern styled guard, creates an effect not to be matched anywhere else!
