Description: This majestic knife is a collaborative effort between Rick Furrer and Mardi Meshejian. Rick forged the blade from wootz. Rick is one of the very few bladesmiths alive today that are able to create traditional wootz, with its unique grain structure. This steel, which is smelted using a crucible method, has the potential of a much thinner edge that modern steels. The elegant blade shape reflects the natural curve of the fossil walrus ivory tip. Mardi has sculpted the ivory revealing a cream colored core beneath a chocolate outer layer. The guard is formed from stacked layers of anodized titanium surrounding copper and is finished off with a copper habaki. Exceptional work throughout!
