Description: This exceptional folder is the work of South African knifemaker Andre Thorburn. The blade is formed from ladder pattern Damascus forged from carbon steels by Devin Thomas. The Damascus is a nice mix of bold and fine patterns. The spine has been fileworked. The mosaic Damascus used for the bolsters was forged by South African bladesmith Ettoré Gianferarri. His patterns are unique and created in very small runs so that the same Damascus is rarely seen on multiple folders. The patterns are exceptional. The hot gun bluing process produces three tones in the Damascus.
Blue and caramel toned fossil mammoth ivory scales are set on red fiber spacers. The spacers allow the mammoth ivory to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Blue anodized titanium liners have been fileworked and surround the mirror polished stainless backbar. The thumbstud has been inlaid with pearl. Excellent fit and finish throughout with silky smooth action and a perfectly centered blade.
Accompanied by certificate from the maker.
