Description: This majestic short sword is the work of up-and-coming maker Michael Rader. Michael, a bladesmith himself, chose to use John Davis Damascus for this piece. John is well known for creating some of the most detailed and highly sought after Damascus found anywhere. A central fuller travels down both sides of the leaf shaped blade.
The guard and pommel are both formed from stainless steel and were sculpted and hand satin finished. Leather spacers surround the handle to allow it to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle is one of the most unique handles that I have ever come across and clearly show's Michael's skill as a woodworker. Sections of bubinga, teak, oak and maple are pieced together into a complex and artistic mosaic. The sides have been checkered lightly for a secure hold. Exceptional!
