Description: Mastersmith Kevin Harvey was inspired by the work of Henry Schively when it came to the handle and by Samuel Bell for the blade. The handle is cocobolo wood with raised hand checkered panels. Kevin used 109 24kt gold pins in the handle. The fittings are hot gun-blued mild steel with Kevin's checkering engraved and 24kt gold wire inlay. A total length of 80cm (31-1/2 inches) of 42kt gold .5mm (.02 inches) diameter wire was used throughout the knife.
The blade is Mastersmith Heather Harvey's (Kevin's wife) Dazzles pattern Damascus forged to shape by Kevin. It has a Spanish notch and is asymmetrically sharpened at the clip. A deep fuller travels across the left side.
The case is made by Brian Coetzee, who is an associate member of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa from a 100 year old sneezewood fence post. It has tambotie wood inlays.
Exceptional, true "master" work throughout. Accompanied by certificate from the maker.
