Description: Award winning Swedish bladesmith Henry Hildén held nothing back when he created this Swedish hunter. Twisted pattern Damascus is surrounded by a bold firecracker pattern edge forged from ck 100 and 15N20 carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The patterns are extremely clear and show tremendous control and skill.
A central piece of core fossil walrus ivory is surrounded by palmwood. The rear piece of palmwood is side cut, showing off streaks of dark grain traveling across a lighter background. The front piece is end cut, revealing points of darker grain on the lighter background. These, in turn, are surrounded by bark mammoth ivory. All this has been sculpted. The right side features decorative pinwork, one of the hallmarks of Henry's work. The fit and finish is extremely well executed, from the meeting between the blade and bolster to the sculpting on the handle. The sheath has been particularly nicely tooled to have a matching pattern to the palmwood in the handle.
