Description: This gut hook skinner has a uniquely South African feel with a fit and finish that is beyond compare. The carbon steel blade has been etched to create a antiqued surface. Kevin has left the remnants of hammer blows on the side of the blade, adding to the antique feel. The 1070 steel will have excellent edge holding. A thick spine assures a very strong knife. The gut hook is sharpened from both sides for a formidable cutting edge. Kevin went to the GRS school for engraving early in the summer of 2004. This is among his first engraved sole authorship knives. Brass tones are continued in the single pin. The ironwood handle is nicely sculpted, with a swell at the palm and butt. Great feel in the hand, with an excellent fit and finish throughout.
