Description: Award winning Swedish bladesmith Henry Hildén held nothing back when he created this Swedish hunter. The center of the three-bar composite blade is forged from mosaic Damascus steel using nickel and iron, whereas the heat colored firecracker edge and spine are forged from ck 100 and 15N20 carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The patterns are extremely clear and show tremendous control and skill. Henry's selection of metals allowed him to have no heat coloring on the center of the blade but exceptional flash of golds and reds on the firecracker edge and spine.
The handle features a series of stacked spacers at the front which provide a secure hand hold and optimal balance. The front bolster is formed from Henry's basket weave mosaic Damascus. Small spacers formed from fileworked sterling silver separate larger sculpted fossil mammoth ivory and African blackwood spacers. The sculpted handle is formed from exhibition grade desert ironwood wood, with a tremendous, swirling grain pattern and a nice warm tone. The right side features decorative pinwork, one of the hallmarks of Henry's work. The butt is finished out with a Damascus steel pommel. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
