Description: The Japanese Gods Fujin and Raijin are depicted on this Glenn Waters masterpiece. Glenn created a folder approximately a year ago that featured this duo and now he has decided to create a limited edition of 100 folders that have this theme. This folder is numbered "1 of 100" on the base of the blade.
In Japanese Myth Fujin is one of the oldest Shinto gods and is the god of wind. It is written that he was present at the creation of the world and when he first let the wind out of his bag, it cleared the morning mist and filled the space between the heavens and earth so that the sun would shine. He is portrayed as a dark demon, carrying a large bag of wind over his shoulder.
Raijin is one of the gods of thunder. He is depicted as being a muscled man carrying a drum which he uses to make the rumbling sound of thunder.
In some legends, it is written that Raijin and Fujin were originally demons that opposed the gods. Buddha ordered his army to capture them. Then after a great battle, the demons were captured and converted to the side of good.
The uniquely shaped blade is formed from Cowry X stainless steel. Cowry X is among the best steels for edge holding. The mirror polished blade has a very aggressive point. A paua shell has been set in the knurled thumb stud.
The detailed handles have been created in fine silver and are inlaid with 24k gold and lab grown rubies. These are set on purple anodized titanium liners. The ATS-34 stainless steel backbar has been heat blued and fileworked into a vine pattern.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
