Description: Award winning Swedish bladesmith Henry Hildén held nothing back when he created this Swedish hunter. The multi-bar composite blade is forged from four bars of mosaic Damascus steel forged from nickel and iron with a heat colored firecracker edge forged from ck 100 and 15N20 carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The pattern is extremely clear and shows tremendous control and skill. His selection of metals allowed Henry to have no heat coloring on the main blade, but exceptional flash of golds and reds on the firecracker edge.
The handle features a series of stacked spacers at the front which provide a secure hand hold and optimal balance. Basket weave mosaic Damascus steel is surrounded by thin fileworked nickel spacers, carved mammoth ivory, stabilized and dyed masur birch, and nickel silver. The sculpted handle is formed from exhibition grade desert ironwood wood, with a tremendous, swirling grain pattern and a nice warm tone. The right side features decorative pinwork, one of the hallmarks of Henry's work. The fit and finish is extremely well executed, from the meeting between the blade and bolster to the sculpting on the handle.
