Description: This one-of-a-kind steak knife set by knife maker Bob Lay is quite a find for the hunter in all of us. This is the only steak knife set that Bob has made to date. Bob's designs are well thought out and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. Here, he has created four of his Trapper knives, matching them with contrasting alternative ivory and buffalo horn. The result is very captivating.
The stainless steel guard and butt cap create a perfect balance in the hand. The spine is lightly fileworked, creating a perfect thumb rest. By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob creates a knife with grind lines that are very dramatic. The blades have been heat treated to 57Rc for optimal edge retention.
The knives are accompanied with a walnut presentation box with a glass lid and lined with velvet.
