Description: Dramatic carving lends extra fascination to this exceptional sole-authorship gentleman's folder. Tom's "chains" mosaic Damascus has been ladder pattered to create a very pleasing and highly detailed pattern. The mixture of bold patterns with miniscule details makes the blade as captivating from a distance as up close.
The knurled thumb stud makes the blade very easy to open. The blue/purple Timascus handle fits very comfortably into the hand. Tom specializes in knives that are visually exciting, yet still retain a friendly, organic design. Textured flames create a dramatic contrast to the heat blued Timascus.
Timascus is a new material which is quickly hitting the knife market with a vengeance. First created by a group which includes Tom Ferry, Timascus is a very light and durable "Damascus" created by forging different grades of Titanium rather than steel. This can be heat blued to a spectacular array of colors.
The liners have been heat blued and fileworked. The heat blued backbar has been fileworked on the exterior and textured on the interior for a very pleasing effect. Exceptional fit and finish, with silky smooth action and a perfectly centered blade.
