Description: Anders creates works of art that are a fusion of cultures and it is not surprising that this Dagger won "Best Art Knife at the 2002 BAKCA Show. This dagger has many of the lines found in Anders' native Sweden. The construction has features most frequently found on Japanese swords, such as the ability to fully disassemble by removing a single peg in the handle. The result is spectacular. The habaki (blade sleeve) features different shaped carved cutouts on each side. All fittings are hand cast by Anders from Merlin gold and antiqued. The differentially hardened blade means that the edge is able to be extremely hard, whereas the center of the blade is softer, creating a much stronger dagger that will hold its edge. The double hamon (clay temper line) is particularly clear on the piece. The work on the wooden European ash sheath is meticulous, perhaps coming from Anders' earlier career as a Swedish fine furniture maker.
