Description: When two great makers combine their efforts, the result is often quite exceptional. This folder has been in a single private collection since it was first made in 1999. It has been meticulously cared for and has never been used to cut and never been sharpened. It shows no signs of wear and could, by appearances, have been made yesterday. Attention has been paid to every detail.
The Damascus has footprints forged directly into the steel. This pattern is one that defined Shane Taylor's work for its artistry and technique. Shane has continued to create extremely dramatic pictorial images in his steel ranging from his Dragon Pattern to Celtic Knotwork. The steel on the blade and scales has been heat colored -- one gold toned and one blue toned. The action is perfect, and the blade dead center. The sapphire thumb stud perfectly fits the color scheme of the heat blued blade. The fileworked 15N20 liners and 1084 carbon steel backbar are also heat colored to compliment the overall color scheme of this exceptional wharncliffe knife.
