Description: Mardi, who became an ABS journeyman smith June 2002, is one of the true innovators of knife designs. His work is both creative and captivating. This D-Guard tanto merges the traditional D-Guard fighter with the Japanese Tanto. The result is spectacular.
The handle is a rough fossil walrus ivory artifact that was used as a fishing weight in the late 1800's. The Tsavorite green garnet stone, set in the handle brings in elegance. The guard habaki have both been heat colored and antiqued for a timeless look. The habaki has been textured and is precision fit to the blade. This is finished off with an ebony sheath. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
