Description: Creating one flint knapped blade with the precision found on the Talking Stick War Club is a difficult task. Here, Joe Higgins has create four matching blades, each 3-3/4" long, from extremely dark obsidian.
Talking Stick War Club combines NW Native American and Aztec themes. The war club shape is often found in Aztec art. The shark profile and pyrographed detailing comes from NW Native American roots. On one side, Tom Sterling has created a head inlaid with a frowning face sculpted from vine burl maple. Eyes and teeth are formed from fossil mammoth ivory. The pupils are formed from inlaid ebony. On the reverse, a shark eye is sculpted from vine burl maple and inlaid with fossil mammoth ivory and ebony. Pyrographed NW Native American themes surround both the eye and face.
Talking Stick War Club comes with a display stand built from American black walnut and is held securely in place by a maple and fossil ivory pin.
