Description: The mammoth ivory scales on this folder are some of the darkest I've ever seen and are very nicely matched. This attention to detail is what sets John apart from the crowd. The edges are lightly sanded and buffed to create a lighter effect around the handle perimeter.
The Timascus bolsters magnify the raindrop pattern of the blade and make an eye catching bridge between the scales and the blade. Timascus is a new material that is quickly hitting the knife market with a vengeance. Created by a group which includes Tom Ferry, Timascus is a very light and durable "Damascus" created by forging different grades of Titanium. Here, three grades of Titanium are used for spectacular color differentiation.
The Titanium liners are jewel polished, hand fileworked and heat colored to gold tones. The titanium spacer is vine fileworked and gold heat colored with filed and buffed pewter colored areas in the file cuts. The Thumbstud is dark gold heat colored Titanium and set with a cut blue sapphire. Action is extremely smooth. Screws are all heat colored gold.
