Description: Conny Persson's knives are an inspiration to knifemakers and collectors. His influence in easily seen in many of the other Nordic makers. Regrettably, for many years, very little of his work gets to the US. This stunning folder is an exceptional example of Conny's incredible work. It has been in a private collection since it was made. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Persson could have made it yesterday.
The drop point blade is Conny's own dramatic multi-bar damascus combining a mosaic damascus central bar with a twist pattern bar at the top and a firecracker bar at the cutting edge. The intricate damascus patterns will have you staring at the blade for hours. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain cutting edge. The blade can be easily opened using 18K gold 'Dellana dots'.
Handle scales are hand forged damascus, set to fileworked liners using 18K gold pins. Presentation grade mammoth ivory bark is inlaid into both sides of the handle using matching hand domed 18K gold pins. The backbar, lock, and spine blade feature matching rope filework. The handle is completed with an 18K gold bail. This is a dramatic knife and will be the highliht of most any collection.
Excellent work throughout!
