Description: Mastersmith Shane Taylor has been fascinated by Kukri for most of his career and built his first one about 5 years ago. The Gurkha knife has inspired many knifemakers over the years and it is no surprise that this legendary blade affected Shane's (already creative) imagination.
The blade was forged to shape from Shane's own damascus. The complex blade combines three bars of damascus. A fuller moved into five pirerced holes, lightening the blade. This large Khukri has massive chopping power.
Arizona desert ironwood handle scales are beautifully contoured for a secure, comfortable, swinging grip. They are set on the full tang with hand domed stainless pins. Forge textured bronze bolsters are dovetailled to the ironwood. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered, ensuring a perfect sense of balance. Despite its massive size, this Khukri is relatively light and nimble. You won't be able to resist swinging it!
This Khukri is accompanied by a pouch style leather custom sheath.
Absolutely exceptional!
