Description: I was tremendously pleased to meet bladesmith Dave Skinner at the 2019 Guild Show of Southern Africa. Dave brings a refined eye and tremendous skill at the forge to his knives. Over the last few years, his work has continued to develop a level of refinement that is found in very few knifemakers.
This Hurak Hunter was inspired by the work of Sam Lurquin. The 1080 carbon steel blade was forged to shape, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. An acid etch finish gives an antiqued appearance. Jimping on the spine provides a positive thumb purchase. Dave's mark is on the left side of the blade. Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade and wood handle.
Hand contoured stabilized ash wood provides a comfortable grip. The swell at the bottom of the handle locks in a solid, non-slip grip. Alternating nickel silver and black G-10 spacers separate the handle from the polished nickel silver guard.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled leather sheath made by Dave is included.
Excellent work throughout!
