Description: Mastersmith Bill Burke creates knives that are as high performance as a knife can get. Among Burke's accomplishments is the wide range of knives that he creates. Whether making a chef's knife, a hunter, or a folder, his work is truly exceptional.
The blade is Bill's Twist pattern damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels. The highly controlled twist shows Burke's tremendous skill at the forge. The blade is perfectly centered with smooth, consistent action and a firm half stop. The clip point blade is high contrast and has a nice swedge. The pivot is 18K gold.
Ancient mammoth ivory handle scales are set against hand coined 410 stainless steel liners. Green tones developed in the ivory across thousands of years as minerals moved into the ivory from the surrounding soil. Green tones are some of the most desireable and rarest mammoth ivory found anywhere. The scales are secured with hand domed pins. A 24K gold escutcheon in the shape of Idaho (Bill's home state) is inlaid into the left scale.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
