Description: Art Washburn creates a very slick folder -- equally at home in the collection or carried as a prized knife.
The blade is formed from stainless Raindrop pattern damascus. The complex pattern was forged by Devin Thomas from 302 and AEBL stainless steels. It is extremely clear and shows virtually no distortion -- clear evidence of Thomas' mastery in the forge.
Ancient woolly mammoth ivory scales taper gracefully from the butt of the knife to dovetail beautifully into mokume gane bolsters forged by Washburn. This results in a sure grip with a tremendously elegant knife. The exceptionally rare blue/green toned ivory is particularly dramatic. The scales are set on blue anodized, hand fileworked titanium liners. The backbar is formed from matching stainless damascus. Screws throughout are 24K gold plated. The right-handed thumbstud has a 2mm synthetic ruby inlaid into it. The action is butter smooth and the blade perfectly centered.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
