Description: This is a traditional Mediterranean dirk employs native South African materials and a spark unique to South African makers. The handle of this beauty is made of mopani wood, a hardwood found in the Zambezi Valley, that is also popular for aquarium displays because of its water resistant properties. Accenting the mopani is twisted copper and iron wire wrap. The antiqued copper fittings give this piece a very renaissance look. Adding to its sense of age, Kevin has left a single hammer blow on the right side of the knife for accent. The knife weighs 5 oz by itself.
